Noah and the Whale

Noah and the Whale

Noah and the Whale is a British indie band from London. So I dig indie music now? I wouldn’t even know how to answer the question since I never really paid much attention to whether an act is indie or not. What I do know is that their song L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N. sure sounds good to my ears that have been very used to mainstream music.

Noah and the Whale is composed of Charlie Fink (vocals, guitar, ukulele), Doug Fink (drums), Urby Whale (bass), Fred Abbott (guitar/keys), and Tom Hobden (fiddle). L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N. is the first single to come off their third album tentatively titles Old Joy to be released March 2011. There is also talk that the album might end up with the title Last Night On Earth.

L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N. is an easy-listening track. It’s like half-singing and half-banter in a good way. There’s a hopeful and wistful vibe to its melody. The sound feels young, vibrant and just a bit laidback. It’s the kind of song I would listen to while swinging side-to-side waiting for a lazy Sunday to become more interesting. Check out the song below.
