Noah and the Whale releases “L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.” music video

Noah and the Whale - "L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N."
Noah and the Whale has just released the official music video to their song L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N. that I featured a month ago. The song is the band’s first single from their third album Last Night On Earth to be released March 2011.
L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N. is an easy-listening, half-singing, half-chanting track from Noah and the Whale. There’s a hopeful and wistful vibe to its melody. The sound feels young, vibrant and laidback. It’s the kind of song I would listen to while swinging side-to-side waiting for a lazy Sunday to become more interesting.
The singing is almost stoic as it tells the story of a certain nightclub worker named Lisa to the story of a writer named Joey. This seemingly unaffected singing narrator stands in stark contrast to what the hook is saying, that life does indeed go on. I didn’t take note of this the first time I listened to the song, but now that I have, the song becomes more beautiful to me. Not only do I hear about Lisa’s and Joey’s story, but I also get a hint that there’s a story about the storyteller that he does not include in the song explicitly.
So what’s your take on Noah and the Whale’s L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.? Enjoy the music video below.
