Mark Bautista paired with Sam Pinto in the music video for "Kahit May Mahal Ka Ng Iba"

Mark Bautista released a brand new single last month. The single is a revival of the song Kahit May Mahal Ka Ng Iba, originally sung by Wendell back in the early 90s. The song is the first single off Mark’s new album Nagmamahal, in which all the songs included are in Filipino.

If you’ve been reading my posts last year, you will see that I’ve never been fond of revivals. But I like Mark’s version of Kahit May Mahal Ka Ng Iba. It is actually a good song to cover since it was never a monster hit in the past. Plus, Mark’s singing style is a very good match to the song. Mark sings as a very traditional balladeer in the song, and with his vocals he makes the song more current. Although I have to admit, this song does not have a very strong recall and tends to make Mark sound older. It is a good enough song (*shrugs*), but I would have preferred another song for the first single from his new album (like the sad song Mayron Bang Muli or the livelier Buksan Mo).

The official music video isn’t out yet, only a teaser. The Treb Monteras-directed music video will see Mark paired with the beautiful Sam Pinto (as shown in the screen capture above). So for now, press play below to enjoy Kahit May Mahal Ka Ng Iba.
