Black Eyed Peas releases video for "Just Can't Get Enough"
Just Can’t Get Enough is the Black Eyed Peas’ second single from their new album The Beginning.
In a previous post about the song, I wrote that I found Just Can’t Get Enough kind of boring. I was trying to get into it. I appreciated how it used electrohop and came up with a somewhat sad and longing song. This in itself is not easy to pull off. But the Black Eyed Peas was able to do it.
I love how Fergie’s singing serves as a good starting point for the energy of the song as it builds up. Fergie’s hook provides non-weepy drama to the song. The lyrics and the livelier music of the song work together to provide an interesting texture to the song. And I also like the switch-up at the end, but I can’t yet figure out if I like it as part of the song, or if I would like it better if there was just a separate remix inspired by the switch-up.
The music video was shot in Japan a week before the tragic earthquake. The Black Eyed Peas hope that the music video will raise awareness and funds for those who need help. It ends with a request to donate to the Red Cross.
