Adele is Rolling in the Deep with her new song
Rolling in the Deep will be Adele’s first single dropping on January 16 in the UK from her sophomore album 21. The new album is scheduled to be released on January 24 in the UK and on February 22 in the US and in Canada.
UPDATE 11/10/2010: Adele has released the official music video to her song Rolling in the Deep.
Adele’s new song Rolling in the Deep, in spite of what seems like a tune fit for dancing, spouts off anger with a bitter anger handled calmly and more maturely with lines like “finally I can see you crystal clear, go ‘head and sell me out and I’ll lay your sh*t bare”, and this comes along with lines that a reminiscent if lonely tone “I can’t help feeling we could have had it all”.
Adele’s style reminds me of how black soul singers from the 70s use their vocals to dynamically pour out what’s in their souls. Adele’s vocals here give the track a certain primal sound, a soul-urge if I may call it. One word I have for this song — brilliant.
